Gabriela Bautista

Gabriela is a Master in Agricultural Environmental Management Engineering and a Biologist passionate and committed to the conservation and restoration of the environment and, whose personal mission is to be part of a multidisciplinary program that can manage the interactions and the impact of human societies on the environment and vice versa. She is aware that real conservation is needed to approach this topic from different points of view: scientific knowledge, public debate and political panorama. Gabriela has been a researcher for most of her career; whose areas of interest are conservation biology, development biology, soil microbiology, among others. From her experience as a teacher and coordinator of environmental projects in public and private institutions, she concludes that research and education are key points for promoting the conservation and restoration of ecosystems.

Gabriela obtained her MSc. Agricultural Environmental Management Engineering at the University of Debrecen – Hungary. Her thesis was carried out in the area of ​​soil microbiology, entitled “The effect of Phylazonit biofertilizer on chernozem soil respiration”. Her graduate degree was obtained through the Senescyt Scholarship program: Common Globe Scholarship: Hungary Component. The undergraduate degree was carried out at the Pontificia Universidad del Ecuador, graduating as a Biologist with the thesis entitled “In vitro fertilization, partial external morphology of embryos and larvae of Rhinella marina (Anura: Bufonidae) and ovulation in Chiasmocleis bassleri (Anura: Microhylidae)”. Her passion for working in conservation has made her part of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Andean region as Assistant Project Coordinator, she also belongs to the Dirección de Patrimonio Natural of the Metropolitan District of Quito.
