David Teran

Currently works as an academic and researcher at the Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Ecuador. In projects related with rational drug discovery and bioremediation with the usage of macromolecules. I completed his PhD at The University of Queensland, Australia, in 2017 in rational drug discovery. During his PhD, he studied the purine salvage pathway against Trypanosoma cruzi and T. brucei, and the acyclic nucleoside phosphonates as inhibitors of this pathway. He previously worked as a research assistant at the laboratory of biological control at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), where they studied the chemical control of the potato tuber moth. Also, he worked as laboratory assistant at the Center of Research of Tropical Diseases at the PUCE, where he performed my research project to obtain his bachelor in honors.
